Management Consultant Role Description

The role of a Consultant will vary depending on the client, your skills, interest and aptitude and type of project.

This position will report directly to the Boston Practice Lead. You will work closely with the practice lead and with other Consultants on multiple projects.

Practice and Work Location

This role will work with Conexiam’s Managing Partner.

Current projects are in Philadelphia, Riyadh and Vancouver. We are pursuing work in Boston, the Netherlands and Houston.

Preference for a candidate from Philadelphia.

This role is expected to require extensive travel. Our last new hire was in three Canadian provinces and three US states in her first quarter, and she just returned from a conference in Scotland.

Duties

This role will evolve as your skill and experience develop. Typical tasks involve:

  • research and data collection to understand the organization, information flows, strategy, goals, objectives, processes
  • conducting independent analysis
  • interviewing the client's employees, management team and other stakeholders
  • running focus groups and facilitating workshops
  • preparing business proposals and presentations

As you gain experience duties will include

  • developing potential target architectures
  • analyzing architectures for fitness to goals
  • identifying issues and forming hypotheses and solutions
  • presenting findings and recommendations to clients
  • coaching client resources
  • leading and managing those within the team, including analysts
  • liaising with clients to keep them informed of progress and to make relevant decisions

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a recent graduate. Frankly your degree does not matter. The current team graduated in Political Science, Tourism & Hospitality Management and Aircraft Maintenance. Conexiam has consultants who have a Doctorate in Religion, advanced degrees in Mathematics and we even have a few MBAs.

We assume you do not have direct prior training. We will provide ongoing training. You provide strength of character combined with a strong ability to analyze, identify patterns and communicate.
