Conexiam's training in enterprise architecture is based on and assists our enterprise architecture consulting practice. Conexiam does two things. We deliver transformative enterprise architecture. We develop world-leading enterprise architecture teams.

Enterprise Architecture Professional Development

Enterprise architecture is a distinct profession. This profession adheres to a standardized approach known as the  TOGAF Standard. It's important to note that this role isn't indicative of seniority and doesn't gauge technical expertise.

Successful enterprise architects change their organizations. They work with their stakeholders to drive effective change. We believe enterprise architecture is the smart way to solve complex problems and deliver on business strategy.

We know our role is to guide effective change.

Enterprise architects use enterprise architecture frameworks to simplify their complex job. They work in architecture domains to improve their analysis.

When we develop EA Teams, we regularly find experienced people figuring out their job. Our training programs are designed to quickly develop useful skills. We are focused on today. Practical, directly usable how-to. Best-practice techniques and method.

Because we believe in frameworks, we have a skills framework. Because we believe in reference materials, we found a useful guide from the Government of Canada. We use this as a simple framework to identify individual barriers to success.

Most of our Enterprise Architecture Training focuses on #6 - Thinking Skills. In our development engagements we will focus on #7 - Working with Others.

We break the Thinking Skills apart differently:

We use Bloom’s Taxonomy. The 6 levels structure the learning outcomes, lessons, and assessments of our training programs.

1. Remembering: Recalling knowledge from memory
2. Understanding: Interpreting, summarizing, and deriving meaning
3. Applying: Using procedures effectively
4. Analyzing: Breaking down and organizing for insight
5. Evaluating: Making judgments based on criteria
6. Creating: Forming new work

We believe that every enterprise architect has a personal responsibility to improve their ability. We have a broad skill-set to maintain and expand. To paraphrase Steven Covey, 'there is a lot of saw to sharpen.'
